I had misplaced my original charger and had to buy a replacement. I am glad, i bought this one.
Pros:
1) Very sturdy construction. Does not feel cheap or flimsy at all.
2) Can be used to charge the battery in the car - has been handy on vacations.
3) Automatically stops charging after battery is fully charged.
Cons:
1) It is twice as thick as the one that originally comes from Canon. The thickness has not been an issue though.
Overall:
I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it in a heart beat to anyone that might be looking for replacement or an additional charger for their Canon battery.

It works as described in the product specification details. The only down side is that its twice bigger then the original one.

I couldn't find the battery charger that came with my Canon camera. I finally couldn't wait any longer and ordered this version.
It plugs into the wall socket the same way as the slimmer "official" Canon charger. The larger size is a non-issue for me.
For anyone who bought this and found that it didn't charge your battery... that it went right to a green light... try turning the battery around. :) I made the same mistake too at first because of habit from the original charger. If you look closely at the battery and the charger you can clearly see that the charger needs the metal part of the battery to make contact to be able to charge. :)
Bonus to have the car charger too!
AND... the product arrived a day early. Fantastic!

When the original charger was lost, I purchased this one and found it to be a great replacement. It works as promised. The only trick - insert the battery backward. Like others I was frustrated by the green light when I tried the first charge. Pay attention to the + - symbols on the battery and charger and make sure they match.

It works great. Be sure to read the instuctions, though. You have to plug the unit in before you place the battery 'in the saddle.'
